Camping/Memorial Day

For memorial day, we decided to go camping with my parents at frozen head state park. My parents have an RV so my parents, Caroline, and I slept in there. Eliza and Kase slept in the tent because they wanted to. The campgrounds did not have hook ups for air/water/electricity, but the weather was perfect. Could not have picked better weather. It was even a little chilly at night time. We had a great time.

On our way to the campground:
Eliza sang "we're going camping" (a song she made up) the whole way to the park.

Meanwhile, Caroline wondered what is camping?

Eliza's favorite thing was the awesome playground that was at the park.

Caroline got some quality snuggling time in.

My dad cooked some of the best food ever. My favorite was the pork chops, grilled corn, bread, and dutchoven hashbrown potatos. Oh and smores. YUM.

We had fun.

Eliza's Rainbow Party

Months ago, Eliza told me that she wanted a "red, green, blue, purple, yellow, all the colors party". So her party became a rainbow party. I wanted to go simple, but I stressed about it anyways. Sigh... Maybe I will get stressfree one day. ha. She was excited about her party for months, but when the day came she said "Mommy I want to cancel my party. I just want to play by myself." She became excited again later, so I think she was just a bit nervous.

We had all the colors of the rainbow of fruits, veggies, rainbow goldfish, rainbow pasta, rainbow drinks, cupcakes with rainbows, and a rainbow cake. It was delish.
We had the party at a small park with a little playground because that is what Eliza wanted to do. She loves the playground. When the kids got there they were suppose to color the inserts for the rainbow straw cups but I didn't really tell anybody that. I think they did enjoy their little cups and maybe they can color them later. I think they atleast liked picking out the color of their cups. Each kid recieved a little pail with rainbow candy, rainbow crayons, rainbow sucker... you get the point.

Eliza LOVES the slide and it was hard to get her away from the playground to open presents. She just wanted to play.
My mom helped me make the cupcakes and cake. We did homemade frosting for the first time. So much better! Our rainbow cupcakes:

It was hard to get Eliza to leave the playground to open presents. The last 2 years, she didn't want to open her presents and I had to do the awkward opening of gifts by myself thing. So we talked about opening gifts and saying thank you. We agreed that daddy would help her and she said she would do it. She did pretty good. About 3/4 of the way through, she was done. The playground was calling her name, but she stuck it out and it was alright. Everyone was so generous and sweet to her.

Then it was time to do the cake. We couldn't get the candle lit due to the wind. On her actual birthday, she had blew out the candle of some cupcakes I made her, so it was alright. Instead, we just sang happy birthday to her. That scared her to death to have so many people singing and watching her. But her daddy helped her. It was her party, and she cried when she wanted to.
The rainbow cake ended up being awesome. My mom was so much help. It was a really fun cake.

I forgot to take a picture of all the kids at the party until after many kids had left, and the birthday girl wanted nothing to do with the picture. We tried.

Caroline is 5 Months

On Friday, June 7th, Caroline turned 5 months old. We had a crazy busy weekend with Eliza's 3rd birthday party. But I grabbed some shots of Caroline being Caroline.

At 5 Months Caroline:

- jabbers a lot with girgling noises, squeals, and coos.
- is a morning baby. She is all smiles in the mornings and will lay there and watch us get ready.
- still doesn't sleep through the night. She wakes up 1 or 2 times but I have moved her into her bed.
- drools a lot. I keep thinking there will be teeth soon but nothing yet. Eliza had 2 teeth by now.
- has not rolled over. She doesn't like tummy time. We need to work on her rolling over.
- is still very sweet. She will grab your hand or arm to put it in her mouth and gives open mouth gummy kisses.
- when we pick her up she will put her little hands on your neck or face and bury her face in yours.
- she sleeps best when snuggled next to you.
- she still adores her sister.
- she is a sweet and mostly patient little girl.
- she is very alert and watches everything.
- she has develped pretty good grabbing capabilities.
- she tries really really really hard to sit up and almost has it down.
- she gives big gummy smiles.
- she's almost out of 3/6 month clothes, size 2 diapers, and 5 oz bottles.
- she still has lots of hair and it is getting long.

She is a pure joy to have around and we love her so much. I still can't believe she is ours.

Eliza turns 3

Eliza turned 3 last Thursday. She was very excited to turn 3. Mostly because her friends are turning 3 and she gets to go to the 3 year old class at school (one day, when they have an opening). For her birthday, she and I made cupcakes in different colors for her to take to school. When we walked in to her classroom, all of her little friends said happy birthday to her and she kept saying "it's my birthday not yours."

When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner, she said: marshmellow cereal and then changed it to pancakes. So after school, we came home and had pancakes and cupcakes. We gave her presents. She got 3 books, and a weebles house. I was afraid she might be too old for the weebles house but she loves it. I forgot to wrap her presents so I wrapped the books in blankets and hid the weebles all over the house like an easter egg hunt. She loved finding the weebles.

After opening gifts, she wanted to watch Wonder Woman. So daddy and her watched an "episoda" as she calls them.

At 3 years old Eliza:
- talks A LOT. I mean, non stop. She asks LOTS of questions. "Is the Sun hot? Will the police man get you if I don't put on my seatbelt? Where is Wonder Woman right now?" etc.
- is sweet. She is sweet to her sister and tells her it will be ok when she cries. She is sweet to her friends. She never gets in trouble at school. Not one time has she ever gotten a 'note' home from school. Her teachers always say that she was good today. Last week, when I picked her up from school she had a sad face on and immediately began crying when I walked into the room. One of her teachers said that she "didn't have on her listening ears" and they had fussed on her. It has hurt her feelings. They gave her hugs before she left school, and she has been listening good ever since.
- is currently obsessed with Wonder Woman. She has never been interested in TV or movies. She has never really watched anything. But she LOVES to watch the Justice League cartoon episodes with Wonder Woman. Her favorite episode has Wonder Woman's mommy. She always tells me that Wonder Woman and Hawk Girl are the in watch tower, and she walks around singing "Wonder Woman" and occasionally sings "Wonder Woman's Mommy!" It is pretty cute.
- She still loves to read and books are her favorite toys.
- She loves the playground, slides, and swings.
- She remembers EVERYTHING. We have to watch what we tell her now. She still asks me about her "GG" (great grandmother) who passed away last fall. She didn't see her very often and she was only 2 + a few months but she remembers that GG was in the hospital laying down and that she is now in Heaven. She listens when you least expect it. For example, when you're talking on the phone she listens to your conversations and repeats things or asks questions about what you said.
- She pays attention when we drive places and says this is how we get to church or SuperDeb's house or school.
- She is bossy. She is a little mommy in her classroom. She reminds mommy and daddy that we have to share her. We have to share who picks her up from school, and who puts her to bed.
- She is smart, sweet, and caring. Everything I could hope for in my sweet girl.

We can't wait to see what she does next.

I have seen several "birthday interviews" and I decided to do one with her this year. We asked her these questions and this is what we got:
