Caroline is 10 Months Double Digits!!!

I know I think this every month, but really I can't believe that she is 10 months old! We have had a rough month. She had an ear infection, broke out in hives (I think from the anti-biotics that she was on), and then got hand, foot, and mouth disease. She is better now, but she still has a cough that I may have to get checked out soon.

It has also been a very busy month for her. She learned to crawl, and learned how to get up from the laying down position. We bribed her with little puffs and she tucked one leg under and awkwardly crawled to get them. It was very ungraceful but cute.

She was sick the week of Halloween. I am not a big medicine giver, but C and E were both not feeling good so I gave them Benadryl and put them to bed. Kase and I watched a scary movie and then I laid down for the night. All of the sudden I heard scratching noises from the monitor. I grabbed the video monitor and turned it on and BAM there were these creepy eyes right up next to the camera staring at me. Caroline had learned how to sit herself up, crawl over to the monitor, and was trying to get it down. It was very creepy and startling. That began the night that will now be dubbed as "Benadryl-does-not-make-Caroline-sleep-EVER" night. It was bad. Really bad. It was like we had fed her chocolate cake or something. We will not be doing Benadryl for a long long long LONG time. (Meanwhile, Benadryled Eliza slept so hard that she drooled all over her bed and pillow.)

Caroline at 10 months:
- loves to crawl every where.
- has started nibbling on some small table foods.
- is still pretty patient, but still pulls her "Princess Pea" act (crying very loudly) when she occasionally finds something that she doesn't quite add up.
- has a favorite toy at school: a very ugly and large stuffed walrus. Her teachers always make sure that it is around for her to slobber on.
- loves to play with her sister and crawl around after her.
- still DOES NOT sleep through the night. She wakes up at least once. I'm working on this but I can't really figure out what to do yet.
- She still takes 3 bottles and eats size 2 baby foods.
- She is moving up to the "Crawlers" class at daycare next week. We are sad to see her leave some of our favorite teachers behind. I'm sure she will bond with some new teachers though. Plus the "Crawlers" class has some awesome new toys to play with.
- She gets very excited to see you and gives slobbery open mouthed kisses.
- No waving yet, but we are very close.
- Eliza is still a very sweet big sister. She brings her lots of toys to play with. She has started calling Caroline "Chunky Monkey" or "Chunky" for short. It is pretty funny.

Favorite Sister story:
Eliza told me that when she gets to be really really big she wants to paint her room blue (her room is green and Caroline's room is blue). I told her that when she gets bigger I think her and Caroline will share a room and so she will move into Caroline's room with her. Eliza got really excited and said that she could just move in there now. I told her that Caroline still doesn't sleep very well and we're going to wait until she gets a little bigger before we do that. Eliza said "That's ok! If Caroline wakes up I will just say "It's Ok Sister, I am here. Don't be scared" and she will go back to sleep!" Then she asked me if she and Caroline could sleep in the same bed together sometimes. I am sure they will. I hope they like this room sharing idea in a year or two when they move in together. ha ha.
Caroline learned to wave. She waves at the camera.

Just ignore the drool on her shirt.

Our Halloween

Eliza wanted to be Wonder Woman, Princess of the Amazon, for Halloween. She loves Wonder Woman and had a dress up costume already so that was easy. I was going to make Caroline a Super Girl Costume, but I walked into Target and they had this costume in her exact size hanging out of place like it was waiting for her. So we had our super hero girls for halloween:

Our festivities began by going to our brother and sister in law's awesome halloween party. We had so much fun, but I have not gotten the pictures from the party off of my camera yet.

Next, we went to our church Trunk-or-Treat the night before halloween. Eliza was excited about trick-or-treating this year and she enjoyed it. There was a sweet girl from our church dressed up as Hawk Girl from the Justice League (Not to be confused with Hot Girl). Her costume was awesome and the look on Eliza's face was priceless. She was so excited to see Hawk Girl.

The Justice League (Hawk Girl, Clark Kent, Super Girl, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman)

On Halloween, Eliza had a Halloween party and daycare and the Kase picked her up early and brought her to trick-or-treat at my work. Then we headed over to our friend's house to trick-or-treat in a group together. Their neighborhood was so awesome. I have never seen so many trick-or-treaters!

Caroline decided to go as an owl to trick-or-treat that night. She was so stinkin cute. She was also so stinkin heavy so she and I headed back to our friend's house to wait for the older kids to return.

We had a great Halloween. Fall is my favorite and I am sad that October is over but it was a great month. In October we: spent a weekend in Gatlinburg with my parents camping, went to my oldest (as in time spent together not age) BFF's most awesome wedding ever in Atlanta (seriously if I could get married again I would so want her wedding), went to the pumpkin patch, went to visit my parents and do fall stuff, went to the circus, and celebrated Halloween. It was the perfect October.

Oh yeah, and we played in the leaves:

Grandpa Time

We've made it a tradition to take Eliza's picture in Miami Dolphin attire every year with her Grandpa. This year, Caroline got to join in the tradition. We love Grandpa.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Oakes Farm Pumpkin Patch this year. We usually go to a different in Powell but it was closed due to bad crops. We had a lot of fun though. Eliza loved riding the 4 wheel thing, bouncing on the jumping pillow, and having a picnic for lunch. We had a great time.
