Update

I'm a bit behind on blogging. If we only had faster internet or more hours in the day. That would be awesome.

But just a few updates...

- my job is calming down a bit so I won't need to work on Saturdays for a while so that is great!

-Eliza is so much fun (which she is not grumpy). The other day we were playing in her room and she took off crawling out of her room and racing down the hall towards the stairs. I crawled after her and she just started giggling madly. It made my day.

- I have read 2 books in the last two months! Amazing for me! I love to read but I have become lazy and I never know what to read. So I joined the book club at church. I read "Jane Eyre" which I liked and "The Secret Life of Bees" which wasn't bad. The next book we're reading is "Unbroken" but I can't seem to get it at the library so I might miss that one. I checked "The Help" out from the library but I am not sure I am in the mood for it. Either way I am proud of myself for reading a book AND for getting a library card. ha.

- Eliza took her first steps on Sunday!!! We were at church and her cute friend "P" was playing with a giant ball and she was amazed by it. The next thing I know she had taken about 4 steps before falling down. It was awesome! I as so excited.


Things are looking up around here. I'm going to take off a few days from work soon and I am excited to relax and spend time with my family and friends.

My Mother's Day Gift

For Mother's Day, Kase made me a sweet video. It made me teary. He is a sweet husband and father.

I love my sweet family.

11 Months Old

I can't believe my baby is almost a year old!!!

At 11 Months she:

- cruises around furniture and crawls quickly.

- HATES having her diaper changed or clothes changed.

- has had a few tantrums lately. I am hoping it was because she was sick and tired. I hope.

- still loves bath time.

- loves trying new finger foods.

- points at things and jabbers like she is saying something really important.

- is still very attached and clingy to me.

- has recently enjoyed napping in her crib instead of w/ me. Which is bittersweet.

- is a really good sleeper. Which is awesome!

- is curious, smart, sweet, funny, fiesty, and the most amazing thing to us.

Mother's Day

This weekend I am thinking a lot about being a mother as it is my first mother's day. I think it is the most amazing thing in the world and I love every thing about it. Even the late nights/early mornings/crying fits. I love my sweet girl.

I am also thinking about all the love my mother has given me. About how when you're upset just hearing your mother's voice can be so comforting. About all the late nights/early mornings/crying fits she put up with from me.

I am so grateful for my sweet mother, for Kase's sweet mother, and for the opportunity I have to be the mother to sweet Eliza.

Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there, to all the wonderful women who fill a motherly role for someone else, and to all those who will be mothers some day. As women we are all mothers. Hope you have a great weekend!
