We have been pretty busy for the last frew months. I have thought about blogging several times, but I'm just too tired. So as an update, here is what is going on in our house.
In September, my sweet Memaw passed away. When I was growing up, Memaw would come visit us and always bring us something: clothes and/or toys accompianied by Krispie Kreme chocolate glazed doughnuts. I always looked up to her. She was sassy and funny. I always felt really cool if she came to pick me up in her jeep wrangler without the doors on. She'd usually be wearing a bright color with big sunglasses. She had been dealing with Alzheimer's for the last several years and it was hard to see how hard that is. My mother took care of Memaw. I know it must've been difficult for mom to watch her mother become so dependent. My mom is such a selfless and kind person. My last visit with Memaw, I felt like she remembered who I was. Maybe she didn't but I could see her in her eyes. She told me I was so pretty. Even until then end she was always concerned about everyone else. I'm glad Memaw isn't suffering anymore, but we will miss her. I'm also glad Eliza got to meet her great-grandmother (she called her Gigi). Eliza and I both received our middle names from Memaw. She was one great lady.

Speaking of Eliza she is so fun. She says the craziest things and asks lots of questions. I could literally eat her up. Everyday, she says something hilarious and I think "I should write that down" but then I forget to. I need to do better at that. She is also developing a sense of humor. The other day, the 3 of us were driving and we passed by a stinky skunk smell. I said "Shew that's is stinky!" She said "It smells like Daddy!" and laughed. She is such a sweet and good girl (for the most part).
She loves to read. |
She loves to get rides from daddy. |
She loves to wear her cowgirl boots. |
We are trying to prepare her for welcoming her baby sister into the family. I don't really know how much she gets it being that she is 2, but I think she understands it more than I realize. She talks about how baby sister will cry and we will have to change her diaper and give her a bath. She also asks to see baby sister (aka my baby bump) and she likes to talk to her and pat my tummy and give baby sister a kiss.
Eliza giving baby sister a hug. I love how chubby her cheeks look. |
Kase's brother, Ryan, came home from serving a 2 year mission for our church. We are so glad he is home and Kase has been so excited to hang out with him. Eliza even likes him already which is amazing. Ryan is the baby whisperer. We are proud of him and glad to have him home. I have pictures but I will have to upload them later for SuperDeb.
So that is what we have been up to. We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and it was super fun. More on that later. This is my favorite time of year and we are excited to enjoy the festivities together. 3 more months until baby girl #2 joins us!
