Hippity Hoppity

This weekend we took Eliza to see the Easter bunny. She was so excited to meet him, but at the last minute she got a little scared so I had to jump in the picture too. I wish we had gotten Kase in the picture but we didn't think about it until later. Caroline seemed to like the bunny. Afterward, we hunted for Easter eggs inside the store and met up with Eliza's cousins for a nice little visit. It was a great time.

Caroline's Baby Blessing

On March 3rd Caroline was blessed. Her great-grandmother Lois, whom she was named after, made her this beautiful dress: (this picture does not do it justice. It is seriously gorgeous.)

Caroline looked absolutely lovely. She did not cry during her blessing. She was blessed with many special things and formally given her sweet name.
Memaw and Papaw after Caroline was dressed:
The family (Kase should be getting use to having a lot of pink around):
The men of the family (except we're missing my brother who couldn't make it.)
The women of the family (except we're missing my sister and my sister-in-law who couldn't make it.)

Everybody:
It was a wonderful day and I'm so grateful we were able to have so many family members there to celebrate our sweet little girl.

PS I HAVE INTERNET THAT DOES NOT TAKE 80000 YEARS TO UPLOAD A PICTURE FROM. I am so. very. excited!

Two months Old

Little Care bear is 2 months today. My how time flies.

She weighs 11 lbs and .5 oz (75 percentile) and she is 23 inches long (90 percentile).

She coos and smiles. She sleeps from about 11 to 4, eats, then sleeps more (on most nights).

She is sweet. Oh so sweet. She cries, but usually for a reason. Her teachers at daycare have all commented on how sweet she is. There is something special about this girl.

She has a lot of hair still and gray eyes. I think she'll loose some hair like Eliza did. A mohawk may be on the way.

She is wearing size one diapers and some 0-3 some 3-6 month clothes.

Her smile makes me melt, but I can't seem to catch it on camera. The camera puzzles her and her smile disappears.

She loves her big sister. She was grinning at her today and Eliza had the biggest smile. My heart was filled with joy seeing my babies smile at each other.

She started daycare on Tuesday. It seems harder this time. I don't know if it is because I know how fast she will grow or if it is because she is such a sweet baby. It is extra hard to leave her. It isn't just leaving her that is hard. I am having a really hard time adjusting. I know it's only been two days, and I know it will get better. I was so happy while off from work and work has been very stressful. So it is going to be a hard adjustment. Plus I am tired and I don't function well on little sleep. I am finding it very difficult to be happy. But I know I have to work and I know I want to be happy regardless of what is going on so I will figure it out. But it is very rough right now. Kase has been very supportive and loving to me and I am thankful for that.

Caroline is learning what it is like to be a little sister. I can tell she is going to look up to Eliza so much. But she is also going to have to be a strong little one. Last night, I told Eliza that we were going to take baby sister to the doctor today and she would have to get shots. I laid Caroline on the couch so I could put some laundry in. I heard her crying so I poked my head out the door. Eliza was giving Caroline her pacifier and all was well. Then I heard her crying again. I looked out the door and I thought Eliza was giving her the pacifier again, but when I came out I found Eliza with her play doctor kit giving Caroline a shot. She wasn't hurt but I felt bad. Eliza is such a good big sister though. She is very sweet and helpful.

It was hard to get good pictures of her today. She was very sleepy all day. Especially after her shots. But these are what I got:

We are so glad to have Caroline in our family. She has made a very sweet addition. We love her.

Caroline's Red/Aqua Nursery

When we first found out we were having a baby, I knew what I wanted to decorate the nursery with: Red and Aqua. I was mildly obsessed with this color combo. Boy or Girl, I was determined to use it. I wanted to go for a retro type theme. I am not sure I accomplished quite that, but I can safely say that I love her room any ways. I hope she will too.

Her room kind of morphed into a travel type theme. I want to do more to it but there is plenty of time for that as we see how her personality is. I also have a cute picture frame my to hang up that my sister gave me. I just need to get some pictures printed.
Caroline sleeping. She looks worried.
I decorated letters for her room. They are hard to see in this picture but I really like them. The paint is Aqua Glow and I love it.
Her bedding was homemade (Not by me) and bought on Etsy. It has red and white clouds with Aqua birds. Her great grandmother Lois (who she is named after) made the adorable white blanket.
I made the mobile above her bed. Found a pattern online and hand stitched 3D hot air balloons. It wasn't too hard and I like how it turned out.
My talented brother painted these pictures of hot air balloons. I LOVE them. I have nagged him for years to paint something for me and these are perfect. He is very talented but won't admit it. (And if you read this John, Eliza would like a picture of an Owl. She also said yogurt but you can leave that part out.)

I cross stitched this hot air balloon when I was in highschool.
I love my bob the big boy. Kase's work made this card with Caroline's picture on the front.
It is hard to tell in this picture but these are pictures of cities/places that Kase and/or I have been to. (Salt Lake, San Diego, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Washington DC, and Nashville.)
These are alphabet cards that I printed from a free thing on the internet. I can't remember where though. I like the retro stuff they have for each letter.
And finally, I purchased this awesome diaper holder off of etsy too. For cheaper than buying one in the store. It is so cute.

So I love her room. I feel happy when I'm in there. I hope she loves it too.

The end.

A Month with Caroline

Our little Carebear is 1 month old. I can't believe it!
This month has flown by so fast!!
Caroline is a really good baby. I think it is safe to say. I know it could change at any moment, but this past month she has been so good.
She has her fussy time, usually between midnight and 4 am. Not every night, just some times.
She sleeps A LOT. Most all day, and then pretty good at night. Today she had a good awake time, and we did tummy time and hung out. She is pretty easily comforted when she gets upset. She likes her pacifier ok enough, and she will calm down if you pick her up and talk to her.
I love her cute fuzzy hair. She has a lot of it and I hope it doesn't fall out. She has Kase's chin. In fact, I think she looks a lot like Kase. Her hair is a tad bit lighter than Eliza's was. She has pretty little eye lashes. Her eyes are a grey or green color. I can't figure it out. I'm sure they will change to something else sometime. her legs went from being michelin man like at birth, to skinny frog legs, and now are starting to chunk up again. I love a chunky baby. At her 3 week check up she weight 9 lbs 4.5 oz and was a little over 21 inches.

I can safely say she has been a dream newborn. I am actually getting things done around the house. I can eat dinner with Kase and Eliza. And I have not had too many sleepless nights. It has been a dream. It seems that each of our girls have been at opposite ends of the newborn spectrums. We'll see if they are opposites on other things as well.

Eliza loves her baby sister. She is excited to see her every day. She had one eppisode where she hit Caroline in the head (not very hard) on purpose. Eliza cried immediately and crumbled to the floor. I think she felt realy bad about it. She said she was sorry and kept giving her baby sister kisses. Eliza loves to help pick out Caroline's clothes and she helps wash her in the bath. It is going to be so fun to watch their bond grow.

We are so blessed to have sweet Caroline in our family. She trully is very sweet. Happy 1 month Caroline!!
