Caroline is 4 Months

Caroline turned 4 months last Tuesday.

13 lbs 11.5 oz and 24.5 inches of super sweetness.

She is so very deliciously sweet with several fat rolls on her thighs. Yum.

She still wakes up once or twice a night.

She just graduated to 5 oz bottles and size 2 diapers. She's wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes.

She still has a lot of hair and it has gotten long. I think she may be losing a little bit though.

She is oh so sweet. She only really cries when she is very tired and having trouble going to sleep, or when she has gas.

She has a sweet gummy grin and especially lights up when she sees her favorite person: Eliza.

She laughed for the first time a week or so ago but won't really do it much. She just smiles a lot.

She coos and growls. She does not like tummy time and does not roll over. She has started grabbing things and tasting them. She likes her pacifier sometimes but not all the time. She burrows her little head under your chin when she is tired and loves to snuggle. She wraps her little arms around you and sleeps away because of this we sometimes call her our Caroala bear (you know, like Koala bear).  She rubs her head when she is tired and covers her face with her hands.

It's strange but I can't really remember her being a newborn. I know it was only a few months ago but I can't remember what it was like.  It seems that this little baby #2 is growing even faster than my baby #1. Amazing. She is such a sweet and special little girl. I am excited to see how she will grow and what she will be like. She is wonderful and I'm so glad I'm her mom.

1/3 of her first year down. Wow.

Our sweet Carebear.

Can you tell she has a drooling problem?

Our Little Bug

Things I want to remember about Eliza at almost 3 (WHAT?):

- She is very scared and concerned with bees right now. "When do they go to bed? When do they wake up? Are they going to sting me?" Any bug that flies by, or a piece of dirt in the air is a cause for concern. She is afraid of them and fascinated by them.

- She makes up songs as we drive down the road. She also requests specific songs with her name that she has made up for them. (Usually the first few words of the song.) For example, "Oh my" by Taylor Swift is one of her favorites. I don't even know what the real name is but it is number 15 on Taylor's new album.

- Every day she talks about the Sun. Every. Single. Day. She wants to know if the sun is awake, going to bed, behind the clouds, or behind the trees. Is it about to get dark yet? We shouldn't touch sun. We shouldn't look at the sun. We need to teach baby sister not to look at the sun too.

- She adores Caroline aka Baby Sister aka Carebear. She is sweet to her and talks to her a lot. She does, however, forget that Caroline has legs if they are covered by a blanket and will proceed to squish them by accident.

- She has recently stopped eating yogurt everyday. This is sad because it was one of the only healthy things that she will eat.

- She likes nicknames. She calls Kase "K-Dizzle" and recently I have become "Mamadee". I am not sure why really

- She has recently taken interest in my scrapbooks and loves to look at them. It makes me happy.

- She has started telling people that they smell a certain way. For example, she told Kase the other night that he smelled like Ketchup. This morning Caroline smelled like cheese.

- She refuses to wear sandles. She loves to have socks on at all times. With the warm weather coming, we need to fix that soon!

Funny things she says:

We always lay in her bed at night at talk about her day. She asks me lots of questions and I explain the world to her. It is one of my favorite times of the day. The other night she said "Mommy, I want to talk about bad things." I was a little concerned and asked "Ok what bad things do you want to talk about?" "I want to talk about knivzsez (knives)." I was even more concerned. "Ok what about knives?" She said "Mommy and Daddy can touch knivzsez but Eliza cannot touch knivzsez. Right mommy?" Whew... that is right.

The other day I saw her holding herself like she needed to go to the bathroom. "Eliza do you need to go potty?" She said, "No, I'm just holding myself so I don't pee myself. I don't need to go potty."

She is such a smart and sweet girl. We are so blessed to have her.

3 Months

Caroline is 3 months old today. She is such a joy.

At 3 months she:

- Makes lots of gurgling, squeeking, cooing noises. She tries to talk to us.
- She still is not sleeping through the night. She goes to bed around 9, wakes up around 1:30, and then 3 hours after that wake up time. I usually put her in bed with me when she gets up around 5 so I can squeeze a little more sleep for me since I get up around 6:30 for work.
- She is good about going back to sleep after she wakes up to eat. She will go in her bed awake and she rubs her face and head with her hands until she falls asleep. It is so cute.
- She likes her pacifier but doesn't really have a thing for it.
- She loves to snuggly.
- She will sit by herself for quite a while happy as can be.
-Eats about every 3 hours.
- Takes 4 oz bottles at school.
- Wears size 1 diapers still.
- She really only gets upset when she is gassy, really hungry, or really tired.
- She LOVES Eliza. She smiles so big when Eliza talks to her. I love seeing my girls smiling at each other.
- Is such a happy and sweet baby.
I cannot imagine our life without this sweet girl.
I'm enjoying her being little so much and I know how fast she will change.
But I'm also excited to watch her grow and see what she becomes.

Easter Part II

Easter morning Eliza woke up to find her Easter basket which she left outside her door filled with goodies. She was so excited that the Easter bunny came to her house. This was the first year that she was excited for Easter. We tried to explain to her the true meaning of Easter. Hopefully she will understand it better next year.

Eliza's basket and Caroline's basket:

Caroline's first Easter involved her mommy torturing her by putting her inside her own Easter basket.

She was not a big fan. But she looked so cute.

Eliza had to get ready for church before she could look into her Easter basket. But she looked darling in the Easter dress I got last year on clearance. score!

 Caroline and Daddy.
 Our little bunny.
The Easter bunny brought Caroline the cutest and softest little lamb ever. I love it so much. I hope she will too. Everytime I see it I think of her because she is so cute and soft too.
I'm discovering the only thing harder than getting good pictures of an almost 3 year old, is getting good pictures of her with her sister.
We had SuperDeb and Grandpa over for Easter dinner. It was so fun to have them in our home. Eliza LOVES it.

Caroline and SuperDeb.
Grandpa and Kase hid eggs for Eliza to find. She was a big fan.
 Grandpa and Eliza.
We had a wonderful Easter. It has become one of my favorite holidays of the year.

Now bring on Spring!!!

Easter Part I

This year was the first time Eliza has ever dyed eggs. She was fascinated. She had no idea that the eggs would come out a different color, and she was so surprised.

We had a great time.

A Girl and her Dress

I absolutely love having girls. One of my favorite things to do is dress them up. It has been fun for me to be able to put Caroline in some of my favorite dresses that Eliza wore.

I particularly love this one. Nothing looks cuter than a cardigan on a baby.

Delicious.

St. Patrick's Day

We wore our green for St. Patrick's day.

Caroline looked particularly cute on her first day of green.

St. Patrick's day is the day after my birthday and Kase's awesome parents had us over for dinner. YUMMMMM.

We had a great day!
